Some of the Children's Stories - in Their Own Words

 
   

  

My name is Mahesh. I do not know much about my family except that my mother passed away when I was very young. I started going to school but there were no proper facilities. Then my uncle told about Swami Rama Foundation, who takes care of orphans and poor helpless children. My distant relatives sent me here along with many other kids like me. Here I met Swamiji and liked him a lot. I have come here to study and I get all the facilities to live comfortably. Here I am studying in 3rd standard. My best friend is Deepak. We play and study together. When I grow up I want to become a police officer so that I can save my country and help others.
   

My name is Dileshwar. Both my parents passed away when I was seven years old. My family consists of two elder brothers and a sister. But they are unable to take care of me. I was enrolled in a local school in class II but there was no proper education in the school. I could not read Hindi and English.

Then I came to Swami Rama Ashram with one volunteer and met Guruji. I felt as if I got my parents. Here I am very happy. I get good food and good education. My teachers are very nice. We love Swamiji a lot and he also loves us. He wants us to become respectable citizens in life. I want to become a doctor when I grow up and I want to serve this Ashram through all possible means and Swamiji too. I feel my life is dedicated to this Ashram and Swamiji. Please support us. My name is Vivek. When I met Swamiji here I was very happy. He told me that I should study here with full dedication and I did the same. I was studying in Hindi medium in my village but here I am studying in English medium. Swamiji is very loving and he makes sure that we have every facility. Staff here is very loving and caring. We stay like brothers and sisters here. I want to become a pilot when I grow up and I shall always be grateful to Swamiji for giving us comfortable life in Naraiangarh. Sometimes disciples of Swamiji visit us. They give a lot of love to us. Can you also do so? Please come to our Ashram and spend some time with us. We have Gowshalo (dairy) having 35 cows for milk. My name is Deepti. My father was in Indian Army. After my father I became alone. My life was totally in dark before coming here. Here we learn Bhajans, Prayers, and the Ramayana. I am very happy here. I want to become a Nurse when I grow up and help the needy and sick.

We live like brothers and sisters. My best friend is Rakhi and brother is Ram. I will never forget the Ashram. Some times I remember my mother, but she is not there.
